I help presenters, trainers, and meeting facilitators be more effective and efficient in the work they do. I started my career as a high school English teacher. Then, while earning my PhD in Communication and for a few years after, I taught at the university level. While I enjoyed teaching on both of these levels, it was not until I began training and coaching business people that I felt I was making an immediate and lasting difference in people’s lives. Since founding Turpin Communication in 1992, I have enjoyed watching our methodology evolve to meet the unique needs of each client. We have broken free of traditional approaches to presenting and facilitating and landed on higher ground. Our evolution led to the publication of “The Orderly Conversation: Business Presentations Redefined,” authored with Greg Owen-Boger (Turpin’s VP).Our book has been called “groundbreaking” and earned 5 (out of 5) stars from both the Portland Book Review and the San Francisco Book Review.
