The role of Laboratory Supervisor was an amalgamation of the Laboratory Coordinator position previously held with added responsibilities. It was an opportunity to grow more as an employee and showcase my leadership abilities. In terms of results, the department almost doubled its revenue in 2019 over 2018; which was a result of new services added and excellent customer service. Main tasks included point of contact for the department, providing technical advice, and tracking revenues and expenditures.

Becoming the Laboratory Coordinator allowed the opportunity for growth and to learn more about petroleum, but it also brought me back to my customer service roots. The role was about creating and maintaining relationships within the petroleum industry by delivering outstanding and timely service. The role evolved with ever-expanding responsibilities including engagement with clients, compiling analytical reports, procurement of laboratory supplies, and administrative support. Was also an active member of the Workplace Health and Safety Committee for 14 years.
