We were merging two financial systems, and a time entry system into Vision. It was a very challenging project.CREATION OF WORK INSTRUCTIONS: I was the creator of work instructions for finance group. These were designed to give step-by-step processes from project setup to closeout. The goal was to have functional documentation so that anyone new to our group could rely on them.CLEARED BACKLOG OF WIP-value $2 Million: Created a plan of action to get the largest projects invoiced out first, then tackle smaller ones. I met with external clients to address their concerns, and build confidence that internal processes were fixed. This reduced our DSO from 100+ days down to 75 days. Not only did this fix the backlog, this created a process for the billing group to stay current.COLLABORATIVE APPROACH TO BUILDING RELATIONSHIPS: As National Project Accounting Manager, I ensured that divisions across Canada had timely access and support. COLLECTED OVERDUE RECEIVABLES value $6 Million: I was in charge of tackling 2 1/2 years of staled dated receivables. I explored the root cause and quickly assembled a team of top talent. We created a weekly progress plan, focusing on the largest dollar amounts, to create the biggest impact for cash collection. In less than 4 months we were paid for 95% of receivables. CREATION OF ACCOUNTS PAYABLE FLOWCHARTS: Developed a process for moving invoices throughout the organization. This created a checklist of accountability for each group.
