As Winter Formal Co-Director, my primary responsibilities consisted of planning weekly meetings, drafting meeting minute documents to transcribe the meeting, conduct and guide multiple subcommittees, interview those interested in order to formulate committees with those that would work together, be the liaison between all subcommittees and external assistance, reserve multiple venues, contact multiple personnels through email, phone call, and virtual meetings, planning out the largest annual event hosted by the Vietnamese Student Organization at Purdue University, and continuously think outside of the box in order to overcome complications and drawbacks with the event. Winter Formal is an annual event that is hosted by The Vietnamese Student Association in order to in hopes to provide all Purdue students, free of charge, with a sense of the Vietnamese culture and how the three regions, Northern Vietnam, Central Vietnam, and Southern Vietnam celebrate the coming The Vietnamese Lunar New Year, Tết Nguyên Đán, shortened to Tết. It is the most important annual celebration and public holiday in Vietnam spanning nine days. Tết celebrates the beginning of a new year, the coming of spring, and serves as a time of renewal. Exuberant festivities are held — traditional food, music and dragon dancing performed along the streets. Winter Formal is an event that is planned and built up for an entire year with the goal to encapsulate the cultural meaning and tradition of The Vietnamese New Year, Tet.

Provided an online interactive platform with applications for our audience and attendees to engage with. Gathered information and details about the cost of services in regards to the various features of the virtual platform as well as investigated the features of the virtual platform. The role of a HHS Success Mentor is to provide, at minimum, 2 first-year incoming students with guidance, direction, and the sense of support. Mentors are to facilitate conversations and engaging activities with their mentees through the academic year. Mentors will work collaboratively and respectfully with other HHS success mentors, mentees, HHS faculty and staff. In this positions, I am responsible for the following tasks:- Building Relationships: contacting mentee(s) prior to the start of the semester, develop and maintain rapport and contact with mentees, attend monthly mentor/mentee activities, facilitate weekly one-on-one mentoring sessions with mentees, and identify and utilize campus and community resources. - Team Collaboration: attend meetings and events with "mentor family", seek out new initiatives and opportunities in the program to continue to grow as a student leader and enhance the mentee experience, and initiate, develop, and maintain relationships with members of the College of Health and Human Sciences community.- Professionalism: serve as a positive role model to mentees, communicate any questions, comments or concerns to the Core Leadership Team (CLT), Senior CLT, and program coordinator, and further develop one's career and support mentees' career development.- Administrative Duties: community approximately 10 hours a month for entire academic year, and track mentoring relationship through bi-weekly reflections, know and demonstrate basic academic expectations and requirements, and complete any additional documentations, administrative tasks and professional development as determined by Senior Program Coordinator.
