I’m a United States Naval Officer and engineer by training. A passionate learner and a dedicated worker who’s proven myself in more than one demanding technical domain. Currently working to learn as much as I can about Synthetic Aperture Radar and how it can be used to help US warfighters successfully meet the challenges of the modern battle space. In my spare time, I received a MS in Space Systems Engineering from Johns Hopkins University which culminated in the building and integration of a fully functional educational CubeSat. With no prior experience in IT, I completed the CompTIA Security+ certification and volunteered to lead a division in maintaining three classified networks used by over 500 staff members to support the training for over 2,000 students. Eventually I became the Information Systems Security Manager for these networks where I led a team of 20 subject matter experts to ensure compliance with NIST 800-53 security controls. I was hand-picked by the 4-star Admiral of the nuclear Navy to provide leadership and technical expertise at the US military’s most rigorous academic training command – Nuclear Power School. While there I mentored over 800 active duty military personnel on highly complex technical fundamentals regarding the maintenance and operation of nuclear propulsion reactor plants. I received a BS in Biological Engineering which culminated in a NASA funded project to explore 3D printing and plant growth aboard the International Space Station.
