I've worked in concrete pumping for over 25 years although I've been in and around the industry since I was 15 - should have done something else! 😉After joining Premier Concrete Pumping in 1997 as a trainee Sales Exec, I went on to lead a team as a Director that diversified and increased the business greatly, resulting in us becoming the UK's number 1 supplier to the Geotechnical and Foundation Piling industries. Btw it’s easy to work with such great people!In 2014 our company, together with Camfaud Concrete Pumps, purchased South Coast Concrete Pumping. As a Director, I managed the growth of the fleet from 19 mobile pumps to 43 mobile pumps in just over two years and the increase from one to five depots. Again, it’s a lot easier when working with a good team. All in all it was hell of a ride!In 2016, we sold both Premier Concrete Pumping and South Coast Concrete Pumping, in conjunction with the owners of Camfaud Concrete Pumps, to the American company Brundage Bone, part of Concrete Pumping Holdings Inc a Nasdaq quoted company. I then worked within the restructured group of companies which became a difficult experience for me as i don’t believe a toxic work culture is the right way to run an organisation. Watching your back the whole time also isn’t very enjoyable! After some r&r I am now working with another great team of people at Pumpmaster. We’ve come along way but we’re not there yet!Really should have done something else!! 😉 😋
