My first job after graduating was with Mars Confectionery. My role was in IT systems supporting the financial planning team, transforming data from operational systems into useful management information such as reporting the ‘daily business review’ for the Executive team (due at 8:30 every morning!) and driving the weekly forecasting review. This foundation taught me the strategic value of management information coupled with real time planning and analysis to support decision making which I’ve been involved with ever since. Over the years I transitioned from being an end user to a developer, to an implementation consultant, from there into partner management and then to sales.My introduction to BlackLine was via a chance encounter with someone I’d worked with for many years at a previous company. I knew they’d recently moved to BlackLine and was intrigued by the product and company. My first questions were “what does it do” and "do you like working there"? A chat over a cup of coffee was followed by an introduction to the country manager and here I am. Early after joining, I discovered that BlackLine’s growth is built on customer success. It’s reflected in the number of new client referrals from people who’ve implemented BlackLine and want to replicate that success when they move to a new company. It's important to me to start an engagement with a new prospect on the basis that you want them to become a happy and referenceable client.I assist large enterprises in their evaluation and selection of BlackLine, from preparing a business case through to project initiation and ongoing support. I’m supported by the best team of solution consultants, value architects, legal counsels, information security experts, implementation consultants, customer success managers and support analysts I’ve ever worked with plus an extensive and well managed partner eco system including the ‘Big 4’ and SAP.I like to keep fit and am an active member of my local running club - I have a bit more time for this now our children have left home but they still seem to be as demanding as ever!
