Managed team of 12 people and owned the Seller Central experience on iOS, Android and Windows Mobile. Built a teamfrom scratch and performed all testing on a 3-week cadence for all formats.- Managed the testing of creating a new marketplace for Brazil which was delivered on time.- Mentored the members of the Mobile QA Team (6) in how QA is done. Members of this team were hired from non traditionalsources and had minimal QA experience. After six months the team regularly hit the required three week cadence.- The Marketplace team pioneered using the organization Year Up to find QA testers and my team was the first QA team inAmazon to mentor and eventually hire a tester from this organization. I spearheaded the process and worked with HR andFinance to get the program in place. When the program was in place I was tasked with personally mentoring the intern.- Owned the test case manager (Test Rail) which involved importing cases from redundant formats, defining team widepolicies for its usage and creating reports for the management leadership as to the level of testing done on any feature thatwe tested. In doing so I demonstrated to management the test holes in our process and worked with individuals to get QA onthe untested areas and a plan for long term coverage.

2008 – Board of Directors, Washington Trails Association. Member of the Board of Directors for the Washington Trails Association in a voluntary capacity. WTA’s mission is to preserve, enhance, and promote hiking opportunities in Washington state through collaboration, education, advocacy and volunteer trail maintenance.

2004 – 2013, Software Development Engineer in Test, Microsoft Corp., Redmond, Washington. Develop, implement, and maintain test plans and scripts for exhaustive testing of new and existing systems to ensure usability and compliance with program manager specifications. The main focus of testing during this period has been on imaging products such as Digital Image Suite and Windows Live Gallery and the Photos application in Windows 8. Act as the test portion of the Triage group which was in existence for all of the release of Digital Image Suite 11 and responsible for following up on bugs and deciding if they need to be fixed or not. Ensure quality control through evaluating delivered functionality against specifications, conducting walkthroughs, reviewing checklists, auditing deliverables, and evaluating project milestones. Devise measures to evaluate the effectiveness of quality actions. Aid in gathering and analysing metrics for defect tracking. Analyse logs, audit problem reports and enhancement requests for production systems using in-house tools.

1999 – 2004, Software Test Lead, Microsoft Corp., Redmond, Washington. Test Lead on the Access team responsible for the import and export of data to and from Access. This role also encompassed ownership of XML/XSL/Schemas and responsibility for managing between 2 and 6 people. Worked on Access 95, Access 97, Access 2000 and Access 2003 and in addition to managing a team also owned several frontline features within the product such as the continued ownership of DataPages.

1997 – 1999, Software Test Engineer, Microsoft Corp., Redmond, Washington. In October 1997 transferred internally within Microsoft to the US Access team who were working on Access2.0 and subsequently Access 95. Duties were those of a Software Test Engineer with exclusive responsibility for one of the new web functionality features (the Data Access Page field list control). Was the test lead for Access on language pack issues and also reviewed feature design specs, wrote test plans, performed test breakouts, implemented test automation, executed manual test passes, and tracked defects and developed test tools and Access applications.

1994 – 1997, Software Localisation Engineer, Microsoft Worldwide Product Group Ireland. Software Localisation Engineer working on the localisation of Access97 for the Office97 Service Release. Test Team Lead for the localised releases of Access97 and Access95 which involved creating automated tests to aid in the testing of the various localised versions of Access. Solely responsible for the smooth operation of the Access Test Lab and the running, monitoring and debugging of all the automated tests that were used to debug the Access product. Acted as the technical expert for a cross division Intranet initiative to aid with the dissemination of information across the unit with the role to oversee the operation of the technical aspects and to scope out new web technology for use in this project.

Feb. 1994 - Dec. 1994 Contract tester working on Access 2.0

1993 – 1994, EHB Micro Support, Eastern Health Board, Micro Support. Installation of a Novell Network and administration of same network and responded to hardware and software technical calls from the E.H.B's micro-computer users. Specified and coded a solution for the Environmental Health department to track health inspections of various food preparation premises.
