The team I work in builds and supports solutions for the "Group Treasury" department at Firstrand.The team has 2 main focus points: providing consolidated financial reporting across the group, as well as providing bespoke technical solutions to other business units within the group.My focus is currently on building a system that will enable "Group Tax" to streamline the generation of the groups annual tax return. The solution will be deployed group wide and will facilitate the workflows and processes required to capture, validate and aggregate roughly 250 business units data into the final tax return.The system is an Angular 6 front end backed by a .net core REST Web API which integrates with the group active directory, a custom security model as well as the FNB mobile app (internally this is used as the 2 factor authentication mechanism).The delivery team is heavily focused on continuous integration / deployment and automated testing. Our automated tests currently include Jasmine/Karma, Selenium, xunit and database unit tests. The database tests are executed as part of our database project deployment process and result in automated deployment to our integration databases and a generated script for release to our UAT and production environments (for internal audit purposes).Besides the usual development tasks, my responsibilities include:- Infrastructure setup and maintenance.- Setup and maintenance of CI / CD pipelines. - Octopus deploy - TeamCity- Customer engagement.- Delivery planning.

My role as the technical lead was focused on providing technical expertise to management, staff and clients.
