The primary purpose of this position is to be the regional economic expert for the area along the east slope of the Cascades in Oregon (Wasco, Wheeler, Hood River, Gilliam, Sherman, Deschutes, Jefferson, Crook, Klamath, and Lake counties). I am responsible for calculating monthly estimates of employment and unemployment, analyzing industry trends, and developing industry and occupational projections of employment.I regularly present to diverse audiences, develop written reports, analyze complex datasets, and conduct media interviews.

The primary role of this position was to analyze statewide multi-center unemployment insurance claim activity and agent historical performance. This analysis was used to design and generate forecasts and schedules in order to maximize business performance.I also planned long-term business strategies and system improvements to adapt to and meet analyzed assessment of changing economic and business environments.

As a consultant for the Invasive Species Council, I was tasked with developing a complex market audience analysis. I gathered qualitative and quantitative data then analyzed that data using a variety of statistical analysis programs, including SPSS, R, STATA, and Excel’s Analysis Toolpak (Sic).

I conducted policy analysis research for the University while attending graduate school.In this position, I developed research projects from formulation to completion. The tasks involved were diverse and included: implementation of data collection protocol in scheduling and conducting interviews and surveys; development of quantitative and qualitative databases based on data gathered from surveys and interviews; analysis of data using statistical methods, cost/ benefit analysis, and content analysis strategies. Lastly, I developed written reports and formal presentations for the funding organizations.

Published a monthly Podcast series for outreach department called “Oregon Science Podcast.” Podcast series consisted of interviews with USGS scientists on contemporary research efforts.Edited and formatted scientific papers and prepared articles for peer-review.Managed employee bankcards and motor-pool expenses for the budget department.Performed routine office assignments, such as public relations, answering calls, filing, and database management.

Managed three on-campus dormitories. Co-managed a staff of ten Resident Assistants and over 500 on-campus residents.Coordinated staff scheduling to ensure coverage of all shifts. Monitored workload in order to maximize the most efficient use of staff hours.Provided paraprofessional advising to undergraduate students in three distinct residential environments.Developed and conducted programs on diversity, chemical abuse, personal development, relationships, security, and academic performance.Managed administrative tasks including room condition reports, maintenance requests, incident reports, and the room change process.
