The upshot of leaving was freedom to travel and an opportunity to spend time with my infant son.

I received a lot of praise from Auckland Council, including being nominated and awarded a council contribution prize, despite only being a contractor! After only 8 months I was interviewed by Head office for a much more senior position within operations.
