As a Technical Instructor, I Educate, learners to get their: Google IT Support Certification, to acquire their 220-1101 and 220-1102 A+ Certification, and Train in the Introduction to Active Directory, Web Servers and Microsoft 365. in a staggering 15 week course.In the course we build (Hands On) LANs, Virtual Machines, Ethernet wiring and actual Computer builds.

Managed Local Area Network infrastructure from the Server Rack, to the desktop. Responsible for over 500 Windows Operating System desktops, with over half of them connecting using the nComputing virtual networked desktop environment. Maintained 150 laptops and 350 desktops with a consistent 96% uptime for all the machines managed on our Network. Responsible for developing a Classroom server for the Music and Video curriculum allowing the students access to the class work files from their mobile devices, tablets and laptops while in class, increasing their productivity whenever computer access was at a premium. I was responsible for designing and extending the Local Area Network using Wi-Fi connectivity to areas of the school that did not have enough functional data ports so that more students could access the online learning resources, resulting in a 35% capacity increase in usage for the students. Segregating Network traffic via firewall, I was responsible for Implementing BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) network access to allow students to bring their own Tablets and laptops to use at school, for increased accessibility to educational resources provided by the schools Internet access. I also provided Graphic design services, designing brochures and flyers for school organized events.

Designed Wide Area Network infrastructure using Cisco routers and switches removing all modem based dial-up computer services and replacing them with their first Wide Area Network infrastructure using T1 and VOIP (voice over IP) communications connecting three campus locations immediately saving over $2,000 per month on telephony and technical communications. Created Local Area Network using Microsoft Windows 2000 Server Operating System. During 2004 we migrated the network to the Windows 2003 server environment adding Microsoft Exchange services and Office Outlook 2003 email and calendaring services, connecting 185 desktop clients and 16 Servers in three locations managing a team of three, we were responsible for all desktop technical support. Conceived and built their first intranet using the Red Hat Linux Enterprise Server Operating System. Assisted in the creation and management of their first website and email services using WAMP for local Intranet hosting and Microsoft Exchange SMTP with AT&T POP3 for email delivery. Established first Linux based Open Source firewall saving thousands the first seven years on per seat license costs, eventually moving toward Astaro Firewall services to open up VPN services and firewall based virus scanning and email services.

Designed local area network infrastructure utilizing Windows NT Server operating system, including RAS (Remote Access Services allows dial into network, home access to send or retrieve files) and LAN Fax services (fax and receive faxes from user desktop computer). Managed two-person team responsible for maintenance of LAN and technical support. Implemented Wide Area Network connecting Michigan office to Indiana Casino office allowing direct connection of Exchange servers, databases and Telephony using IP and saving over $5,000 per month in telephony charges. Utilizing Microsoft Office 2000, offices shared calendars, contacts and tasks between Michigan and Indiana offices. Designed brochures, presentations and advertising for African based Barden publications.

Local Area Network management, implementing Windows NT server operating system. Managed twenty-three clients, with five (remote) clients accessing through RAS. Responsible for all PC and Technical Support including WAN clients via Campbell-Ewald network connection. 2nd year focused on database management using FileMaker Pro to track inventory and physical assets saving over $10,000 per year in computer purchases. Quarterly reports generated from this database provided: vendor information, warranty status, depreciation date, fixed asset tracking number, and other pertinent information for invoice asset reconciliation. Conceived, designed and programmed a Digital Video Wall guest book, creating a visual database of guests and foreign dignitaries visiting the General Motors MediaLab. 3rd year prepared Local Area Network for deployment of Microsoft Exchange server 5.5 and increased remote technical support capabilities using Timbuktu Pro 32.
