Damon is an architect and mentor who believes in using his craft to do good for others. He’s a big-picture thinker who operates through vision, strategy, process, and action. His diverse experience has spanned projects for public and private universities, community colleges, government, developers, and corporate clients. Ultimately, his passion lies at the intersection of people and architecture, with a particular affinity for creating impactful spaces for higher education clients that support interdisciplinary learning, research, and collaboration. When he’s not focused on projects or the business of architecture, Damon dedicates time to developing people through education and mentoring. He’s a committed advocate for diversity within our industry. He’s been a professor of architecture at his alma mater, Howard University, and an active board member for the ACE Mentor Program, which exposes high school students to architecture, construction, and engineering careers. He currently serves on the Mid-Atlantic Council for the Society for College and University Planning (SCUP). As the Managing Director for Perkins&Will's Washington, D.C. studio, Damon’s leadership balances the practice and the people. He is dedicated to supporting an inclusive culture that prioritizes design excellence and sustainability while recognizing the importance of mentorship and leveraging our creative talents to do good for our communities.
