Dan Abbott Email and Phone Number
I am a 2023 graduate of Southampton Solent University, where I achieved First Class Honours in BSc Sport Performance Coaching. I am a driven, enthusiastic and hardworking individual with experience in working both as part of a team as well as leading a team. I am also able to work on my own initiative and remain calm under pressure. I will be spending the 2024-25 season working at Norwich City Football Club within their academy, predominantly with the U15 and U16 age groups. My main role will be leading on academy match days providing instant feedback, as well filming training using a variety of methods (Drone/IP Cameras) to support training week themes. I spent the 2023-24 season working with Surrey Scorchers as a Performance Analyst/Scout, providing pre-, post- and in-game analysis. My role included assisting with the video capture of team practice, analysing footage to provide statistics and video clips to identify methods to improve team and individual play. Furthermore, I supported the Head Coach and Coaching Team with visual and written scout reports in preparation for upcoming games, focusing on both individual players and team sets. I spent the 2021-22 season working alongside the Head Scout as a Performance Analyst Intern at London Lions Basketball Club. Similar to my Scorchers role, my main responsibility was to implement and embed an internal video streaming system to support and enhance all areas of internal player development and team practice. I also supported the Head Scout with visual and written scout reports in preparation for upcoming games.I also have a wide range of experience in coaching basketball, having coached all the way from beginners to Junior National League as well as age groups from U10-U18. I spent the 2023-24 season as a Community Basketball Coach for Sussex Storm, one of the most successful Junior programmes in the country. My main responsibility was planning and running Primary School and Community sessions to ensure they were educational, beneficial, and fun, as well as Head Coaching the Storm Under 10 National League team. My role prior to Storm was as Lead Development coach for the U10, U12, U14 and U16 age groups at Whiteley Warriors Basketball Club. Prior to undertaking my Undergraduate degree, I coached Shoreham Academy’s girls’ teams (Years 7-10), Shoreham Spartans U14 and Worthing Thunder U14, whilst also coaching in schools with South Coast Elite Basketball. As a Junior, I represented Worthing Thunder in the National Basketball League for five years, including being named captain for my final season.
