I am extremely passionate about seeing a good job done well and understand all aspects of the Commercial and Residential building process, having gained practical and management experience both here in Aotearoa New Zealand and in Australia.I'm competent in providing commercial and strategic guidance, monitoring day-to-day business performance, and ensure every aspect of the company’s priorities run smoothly. I pride myself on meeting contractual obligations on time, achieving the appropriate standards and on budget.I'm a licensed builder and have more than 30 years’ experience in the construction industry.My career began with completing an apprenticeship in carpentry. While working as a carpenter I obtained my formal qualifications as a licensed building practitioner (LBP) in Australia and are currently an LBP license holder in New Zealand. Prior to making the move to Ōtautahi Christchurch I successfully managed my own construction business in Melbourne, Australia. During this period, Myself and my team managed the whole gamut of residential building projects, often working for Architects requiring a high level of quality. After moving to Ōtautahi in 2012, I worked on the EQC repair programme with Arrow International. This role began as a Project Manager and then I successfully moved into a team manager role. This was an extremely challenging space to operate in, given the sensitivity of the event across the community and the devastation of many families homes. Since 2019, I have been leading Switched On Building Solutions’ operations joining the business as Operations Manager. Daily tasks involve overseeing staffing, liaising with clients, contractors, and sub-contractors, financial budgeting, and strategic planning.Being promoted into the General Manager role has been a highlight of my career and I am excited about working with a fabulous team.
