We turned net customer attrition to net growth and successfully executed portfolio acquisitions after arranging an acquisition credit line facility. I was responsible for the design and execution of the company’s overall business plan. Ruby Creek was a U.S based publicly traded exploration stage gold mining company with operations in Tanzania. I was promoted from CFO to CEO when the Board of Directors determined that in-country operations were in need of significant improvement. As CEO I restructured the company’s management team, staff and overall operations to more effectively execute the company’s business plan. I helped raise capital through various debt and equity instruments and reengineered the company’s supply chain and vendor relationships. I also established excellent working relationships with key Tanzanian government officials.

I had overall responsibility for internal and external financial reporting. Ultravolt designs and manufactures high voltage power supply units. I helped proactively navigate the business through the impact of the 2008/2009 economic crisis by streamlining operations, reducing staff and increasing overall productivity. I remedied numerous inherited internal control deficiencies, as identified by our external auditors, by substantially upgrading our internal control processes and procedures. I upgraded and converted our manufacturing system from actual cost to a standard cost system.I also implemented numerous Excel-based reporting tools, vastly improving the usefulness and timeliness of financial information.

I had overall responsibility for internal and external (SEC) financial reporting. Odyne designed and manufactured advanced hybrid electric vehicle propulsion systems. Odyne became a publicly traded company through a share exchange (reverse merger) transaction. I successfully managed the company's financial reporting transition from a private to a publicly traded company and helped the company achieve compliance with Sarbanes Oxley.I helped raise over $16 million through convertible preferred stock, convertible debt and common stock transactions. I analyzed and resolved complex GAAP reporting issues including accounting for embedded debt and equity instruments, warrants, as well as employee and non-employee stock options.

I reported directly to the Chief Financial Officer and worked with the executive management team of this $1.1 billion retail furniture chain. I designed and managed the implementation of an Oracle based financial reporting system in a multi-organizational environment. I restructured the company's financial reporting and operational accounting departments resulting in cost savings and a more efficient and streamlined flow of information. I helped analyze and resolve operational challenges associated with multi-state sales, distribution, warehousing and administrative functions and had extensive involvement in the company's obtaining various debt instruments including a $ 130 million bond offering.I was the primary financial liaison with external turnaround specialists in connection with restructuring activities, Chapter 11 filing and the sale of the company's assets to a newly formed entity. I was also responsible for the financial reporting requirements of governmental agencies in connection with Chapter 11 filings.
