Software quality assurance, duties include manual and automated testing of applications built with Salesforce.com CRM software and Pegasystems workflow software.

Current role is IT analyst supporting customizations to the Exelon’s Salesforce.com software-as-a-service cloud based CRM product including enhancements to the data model, new business processes, user interface enhancements, reporting requirements, working with the business users to define their company specific Saleforce.com security settings, translating business requirements into technical specifications to be coded in the Saleforce.com Apex programming language, and creation of the documentation required for the IT staff to support the company’s customized version of the Salesforce.com product. Was also responsible for the design of the processes for migrating data from the company’s legacy systems to their instance of Salesforce.com. During system testing and user acceptance testing served as team lead responsible for all interfaces between the CRM, pricing and billing applications; interfaces were implemented with Tibco middleware and Java. Testing phase duties also included validating interface test results by querying the pricing application’s Oracle database. Documented in text-based use case form the business requirements for all data migrations and interfaces associated with the company’s new CRM and pricing applications. Team lead for two small projects, one to rewrite much of Exelon’s Microsoft SQL Server based Analytics system to improve both its performance and functionality and the other to develop a Microsoft SQL Server based ETL/reporting application to monitor the exchange of information between Exelon’s Pricing, Billing, and Analytics applications.

As a technical lead worked on a number of projects to convert all of the credit card division’s UNIX/Oracle based data warehousing applications to interface with the bank’s new COBOL/IMS mainframe based credit card transaction processing system. Duties included writing technical specifications to modify the interfaces and enhance the functionality of a number of the bank’s CRM data warehousing applications. Duties also included project management related activities of estimating, planning, and scheduling tasks; and working with the users and QA test teams to built detailed test plans based on a user defined set of use cases describing each application’s functional requirements. All of the applications used the Ab Initio tool for extracting, transforming and loading data. As a senior systems analyst, wrote functional specifications and test plans for the implementation of a number of new scoring algorithms used to predict customer behavior and spending patterns. The scoring application was implemented in a UNIX environment using Oracle, SAS, and the Ab Initio ETL tool. Duties also included designing and coding a SAS/SQL user reporting application to extract scoring data from the Oracle database and present it in an HTML format.

One of the lead analyst/designers tasked with the database conversion of three major application systems from IDMS to DB2, the Products, Groups, and Claims applications. Duties included: logical and physical database design; creation of program specifications for the extract-transform-load processes; creation of test cases and test scripts; and supervision of coding and testing personnel. The converted application systems included over 300 IDMS record types, over 150 million records and over 1,500 application programs. All data modeling was done using ERwin. Project leader for the HMO portion of a project that extracted, transformed and merged HMO claims with indemnity claims into a common relational format for viewing via the web. Data analysis included accommodating the data requirements to the HIPPA claim status inquiry and claim status inquiry response transactions. Project utilized DB2 for data storage and MQ Series for data transmission. Other projects included teaching DB2 classes to IDMS programmers and assisting with Y2K remediation including the development of a reporting system in Microsoft Access to control and track the client’s code assets as they were modified and tested for Y2K compliance.

Formerly SmithKline Clinical Laboratories For the Sales and Marketing Group of this billion dollar clinical laboratory, served as project manager and technical leader for a laptop computer based sales force automation system developed using Visual Basic, Sybase and DB2. Design activities included logical/physical database design using the Bachman CASE tool user interface design and prototyping using Visual Basic. Also responsible for: creating management reports using Microsoft Access; writing the system’s online help facility; extracting DB2 mainframe data using QMF data for loading into Sybase; and serving as one of the instructors in the training of the company’s 400 sales reps. Other projects included: development of a prototype of the company’s system sales and marketing reporting system using a star schema database design with reports developed in Microsoft Access and Crystal Reports; writing design specification and user documentation for the company’s DB2 based cost accounting system.

As a systems analyst for this major institutional food service distributor, participated in the requirements definition and conceptual design of their order entry/inventory management system. Duties included documenting the current manual and automated business processes and defining the new system's processes and data requirements. Design was documented in text-based use cases. Project followed the MERISE system development methodology and used the PacDesign CASE tool.

Senior account manager for the company’s the Mid-Atlantic division with supervisory responsibility for six other account managers. These six account managers collectively managed over 120 billable consultants. Responsibilities included salary administration, interviewing job applications and assisting the marketing staff in the preparation of proposals and marketing material.

For this Fortune 500 food manufacturer, served as analyst/designer on a CICS/DB2 mainframe based project that developed a corporate customer database system. Duties included conceptual and logical database design; creation of program specifications and prototyping of the online portion of the system. All design work was done using Arthur Anderson's CASE tool FOUNDATION and their system development methodology METHOD/1. Coding and testing was done on PC's using Microfocus Cobol and then ported to the mainframe. As a member of the design team, participated in the conceptual design of the company’s product database and documented the conceptual model using the FOUNDATION CASE tool. For the company’s credit memo system, developed a prototype of the online portion of the system using the FOUNDATION CASE tool.

As an account manager for this international consulting firm was responsible for managing 25 consultants working at numerous client sites. Responsibilities included reviewing each consultant's work products as well as handling the salary administration, career planning and education needs of each staff member. On large projects assisted staff members in defining, estimating and scheduling tasks and then monitored actual progress against their project plan. Additional responsibilities included conducting technical interviews of job applicants and assisting the marketing staff in the preparation of proposals and marketing material. Conducted almost all of the of the consulting firm’s IMS, IDMS, CICS and COBOL technical interviews interviewing over 500 people with these skills.

As a group leader this Fortune 500 paper manufacturer, managed a team of six programmer analysts and was responsible for the testing, integration, and implementation of the COBOL/CICS/IDMS inventory subsystem of a large mainframe order entry/inventory/billing system consisting of over 1,500 modules. As an analyst/designer on the same project, was responsible for the functional and detailed design, and the creation of the system and integration test plans, for the pricing/promotions subsystem. All design was done using the Yourdon structured design techniques. As a technical writer for the same paper manufacturer, developed a standards and procedures manual for the technical services department. This manual consisted of standards and procedures for workflow, performance measurements for staff evaluations and management reporting procedures.

As a programmer/analyst, wrote batch and online COBOL IMS DB/DC mainframe programs for a number of financial applications including commercial loans and international demand deposit processing. Also supported the bank's SWIFT electronic funds transfer system. Support of the SWIFT funds transfer system included development of standards and procedures for system operation, operator training, and vendor interface for all hardware, software and telecommunications problems.
