I have worked in the rail industry for 20 years 16 of which have been spent in S&T based roles both mainline and on the DLR.I am currently employed at KeolisAmey Docklands as an Engineering Response Team leader. My job is to deliver a high quality, safe and efficient railway service that achieves 99% and above reliability performance figures. These reliability scores are part achieved by the intervention of the first line response teams that I directly manage. Our first line response teams attend to failures on the Thales TBTC fully automated signalling system that is found on DLR and any other failures that may lead to a disruption to service. In my role as team leader I am required to effectively manage, direct and provide technical assistance/ guidance to the First Line Response Teams on the ground from the DLR control room at Poplar or Beckton with a view to minimising disruption to railway.
