An 'A’ Licensed and AYA-qualified football coach with much experience from working at four professional academies: AFC Bournemouth, Fulham, Crystal Palace and Brentford. I am the Academy Coach Developer (U9-14), having previously been Lead Youth Development Phase Coach, Interim Lead U18 Coach and Lead Foundation Phase Coach at AFC Bournemouth, so I have experience of leading and coaching teams in all three Development Phases.A former Director of Sport and Director of Pastoral Care with 19 years' teaching experience in three schools, as well as with a wealth of experience as a successful semi-professional player, I have a great deal to offer in terms of leadership and coach development. A former FA Affiliate Tutor for the Dorset FA, I delivered Level 1 and 2 courses across the County.I also have adult football management experience with semi-professional football teams, having previously managed Walton Casuals in Step 4, as well as Sturminster Newton United in Step 7. Academy Coach Developer
Current1. To develop coaches within the U9-U14 age groups. 2. To develop phase specialist coaches.- Manage the full-time and casual coaches across U9-14 age groups including their core job description responsibilities / audit requirements (e.g. FIP completion, session planning, coach:player ratios in sessions etc) and all Human Resource (HR) functions related to their roles- In conjunction with key staff, develop, define and monitor the Academy’s coach development programme and coaching philosophy on a regular basis for the U9-14 age groups - Lead in the management of external Continued Professional Development sessions for U9-14 age group coaches including but not limited to sessions with The FA, Premier League and any other relevant body - Provide 1:1 coaching in order to develop the individual coach’s skills through completion and use of staff observations and appraisals, Training Needs Analysis (TNA), Development Action Plans (DAPs) and the Coach Competency Framework (CCF) for the U9-14 age groups - In conjunction with the Academy Head of Coaching & Development, develop, define and monitor the Academy’s playing philosophy and coaching programme regularly for the U9-14 age groups - Develop and update the weekly coach support schedule across U9-21 age groups- Assist the Academy Head of Coaching & Development in a) coach development processes for U15-21 age groups and b) wider department strategic development as required - Identify and recruit coaching talent for the U9-14 age groups
