My years of experience in teaching, game design, music, computers, SEN support, coding, gaming, and graphic design; and also being a parent of two autistic children, led me to create MindJam - emotional support, mentoring, and guidance using gaming and game design. There are so many amazingly talented children who are lost, struggling, and feel they don’t fit in. My goal is to build their self-esteem and confidence and ease their anxieties all while honing their skills and abilities to help them reach their incredible potential.MindJam has grown to support over 1000 young people all over the world - we have the very best mentors who understand, emphasise, and care about each child they work with - using low demand, 121 child-led sessions to repair lost trust, overcome trauma, and bring positivity and belief in themselves. The future is becoming increasingly digital and it is a world in which children feel at home. By harnessing the benefits of digital entertainment/creative platforms, MindJam wants to support children with aspects of life they find difficult, in an environment they feel comfortable. We work together with families, support networks, schools, colleges, councils, gaming companies, and mental health professionals to provide the right support to each individual child.MindJam was a BAFTA finalist for Mentor of the Year 2021.www.MindJam.org.uk
