At British Land I had responsibility for running in excess of £1billion of the flagship shopping park assets within the Hercules Unit Trust and the British Land portfolio. These represented some of the UK’s largest and most successful shopping parks, and included Glasgow Fort, Fort Kinnaird Edinburgh, Teesside Shopping Park, New Mersey Shopping Park, Speke and Birstall Shopping Park, Leeds, amongst others.Key Achievements:- Headed up the delivery of the 200,000 sq ft Phase II extension at Glasgow Fort, including an 80,000 sq ft M&S department store. This included negotiating a complex development agreement with Glasgow City Council.- Delivered from inception to completion the 50,000 sq ft cinema and restaurant development at Glasgow Fort, incorporating an 8 screen Vue Cinema and 5 restaurants.- Instigating and delivering the 50,000 sq ft leisure development at Fort Kinnaird, Edinburgh, comprising a 7 screen Odeon Cinema and 7 restaurants.- Negotiating and completing the 50,000 letting to Primark at Fort Kinnaird for their first out of town store in Scotland. This involved developing a new out of town concept design with Primark.- Letting of the 40,000 sq ft former Focus unit at Leamington Shopping Park to Debenhams following full refurbishment, with the scheme subsequently being sold for a sub 4.5% yield.- Negotiated and exchanged 4 department store lettings in the last 3 years, totalling 230,000 sq ft.
