I am Sr. Director of Technical Services at IAPMO responsible for the supporting documents of the Uniform Plumbing and Mechanical Codes, which includes the Illustrated Training Manuals and Study Guides. I am the Staff Liaison for the Publications Committee, Answers and Analysis Committee, the Green Plumbing and Mechanical Technical Committee, and the WEStand Technical Committee. I have rendered technical services for specialty codes such as the Oregon Reach Code, India's Uniform Plumbing and Mechanical Codes, and Indonesia's SNI Plumbing Code. I have also lended technical support toward the adoption of the Uniform Plumbing Code in Minnesota. I currently serve on the AWWA M22 Committee, ASPE Standards Committee, and served on the Lead-Free Coalition. I am the acting Chairman steering the IAPMO/ASPE Pipe Size Task Group in the revision of Hunter's Curve for high efficiency plumbing fixtures. As a technical researcher, I have published numerous articles relating to the plumbing code. Having been in the plumbing trade since the 80s and after serving as a plumbing inspector for several municipalities, I am still a licensed journeyman plumber in the state of Illinois and a member of the Illinois Plumbing Inspectors Association.
