I am working as a quantitative vulnerable species ecologist for the Inter-American Tropical Tuna Commission where I am focusing on understanding how the environment can drive marine species interactions with fisheries and how climate change is impacting highly migratory species and the fisheries that target them. Prior to that I was a marine spatial ecologist for ECS under contract for NOAA Fisheries Highly Migratory Species Management Division. I completed my PhD at Virginia Institute of Marine Science focusing on the effect of climate change on the redistribution of marine fish species. I received my Masters from California State University Long Beach, studying the effects of anthropogenically-altered water temperatures on the movement patterns and habitat selection of the Eastern Pacific green sea turtle. Prior to graduate school I received a B.S. in marine biology at University of New England.

Assessing the impacts of climate change of elasmobranch and teleost fishes. Specifically looking at how species' physiology and distribution may change.
In the Lowe Lab I used acoustic telemetry to study the effects of anthropogenically-altered water temperatures on the Eastern Pacific green sea turtle. Within the San Gabriel River, Long Beach, CA power plants discharge warm water effluent altering the river's water temperature, potentially affecting the movements and habitat preference of this endangered.
Determined the age distribution of six shark species in the Gulf of Mexico. Cut and aged shark vertebrae using a gemsaw and image software, respectively. Also used similar methodology to cut and age Mediterranean Sea elasmobranch species. Assisted in other various research projects including elasmobranch reproduction and physiology, ecology of Atlantic and.
