Bioinformatics Support Scientist at Illumina; Victoria, BC – 2015 - Present As a technical application specialist for Genologics/Illumina I have a comprehensive understanding of the BaseSpace Clarity LIMS (Lab Information Management System) and can teach others how to use every component of the application including the GUI, API, built-in scripts, configuration, AWS linux server and pgSQL database. Using this knowledge, my primary roles would be to write python scripts for bioinformatics and metadata management in genomics labs as well as be a consultant for customers to extend their LIMS application beyond the core functionality. Acting as a consultant for the Customer Success team I would provide python scripting specialization to technical / bioinformatics customers. Examples tasks would be integrating to instrument software such as HiSeq3k4k, pipelining other downstream software applications (for example kicking off bcl2fastq2 conversion on a remote cluster). I leveraged the Clarity API through python scripts to model laboratory business logic in research or clinical environments, adding automation and/or validation.
