Bioinformatics Support Scientist at Illumina; Victoria, BC – 2015 - Present As a technical application specialist for Genologics/Illumina I have a comprehensive understanding of the BaseSpace Clarity LIMS (Lab Information Management System) and can teach others how to use every component of the application including the GUI, API, built-in scripts, configuration, AWS linux server and pgSQL database. Using this knowledge, my primary roles would be to write python scripts for bioinformatics and metadata management in genomics labs as well as be a consultant for customers to extend their LIMS application beyond the core functionality. Every day was a new challenge, and if a problem was encountered more than twice I would create a public-facing cookbook document, including example code, for the company forum.
