I will be working closely with an upper elementary head teacher, along with the rest of the upper elementary team, to maintain a positive and focused classroom environment. I will also be working with the young writers to improve their writing (and reading) skills through mini lessons and workshops.

Here I watch after kids when school has ended, provide activities for upper elementary and middle school children, and assist other teachers with managing the room and group.

Western Campus

I am teaching two hybrid (online and in-class) English Composition II courses at Tri-C's Western Campus.

I familiarized myself with various social media platforms, online writing, video/audio/photo editing, and possible long term careers for a writer. Have also accumulated $1.50 in library late fees #goodwillhunting on books dealing with social media, online business writing, semantic search, and even small business (fines since paid). Social media formats explored: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr, YouTube, Pinterest, Google Plus, Wordpress, Wix, and Google Blogger. Examples are linked below.

One year as an English tutor in the Writing Center and two years as an Assistant/Managing Editor in the CSU Poetry Center. As a tutor I tutored one on one with CSU undergraduates and graduate students, lead writing skills workshops, and was the office calendar manager. At the P.C. I managed the annual book competitions, revised the G.A. workbook, completed office duties, and assisted with event coordination.

For a fifteen week middle school residency I lead two classes of English Language Learning classrooms in poetry workshops.

Dresden Area, Germany

I spent a year in a TEFL practicum as an intern in Unternehman Kultur's private kindergarten schools. My responsibilities included teaching weekly English lessons for 3 to 6 year old students in addition to language immersion at all other times, basic child care and sole supervision, attending team building meetings in German, and teaching and supervising during a week long summer camp.

My responsibilities included office work involving Microsoft Office, preparing for and working at various readings and events, as well as leading outreach poetry workshops with children, teens, college students and adults.
