Dr. Eversole is a faculty member in the Department of Animal Sciences within the School of Animal Sciences at Virginia Tech and is co-chair of the undergraduate program. He is the academic advisor to nearly 90 students and teaches several Animal Science classes in the B.S. and 2-year associates' degree program. He is the Director of Beef Cattle Programs and oversees the Angus, Charolais, Hereford, and Simmental purebred breeding programs. Since joining the faculty in 1984, Dan has worked closely with these four national breed associations and his involvement with undergraduate students has been documented in featured articles published in trade journals and breed magazines. The American-International Charolais Association recognized the Virginia Tech Beef Cattle Center as the '2017 Seedstock Producer of the Year' for their success and achievements in breeding, merchandising, and promoting the Charolais breed of beef cattle.Dr. Eversole is a distinguished alumnus of The Ohio State University and was inducted into the Animal Science Hall of Fame in 2021.
