Duties also included overseeing safe and secure storage of materials and designing storage facilities.- Specialist for the TRU waste program that classified and shipped items to the WIPP disposal facility. This was a large scale Dept of Energy program that used the Argonne site as a prototype for a process to be used at other National Laboratories around the country. All the protocols were developed during this time.- Performed duties as the training coordinator for the facility maintaining certifications and licenses of personnel and the facility.- Custodian and responsible for weapons grade plutonium materials on site.- Wrote contracts with waste disposal facilities. - Represented ANL in working with numerous external federal, state, local, and private agencies.

- Completed Naval Nuclear Power training programs.- Test engineer for the overhaul (refueling/decommissioning) of subs, cruisers, and aircraft carriers with various reactor plant designs. Duties included detailed characterization of disposal items and creating a process to be used on site and at other west coast sites. - Designed waste treatment and storage facilities. Developed standards for meeting regulatory compliance, and represented the Navy at public hearings.- Performed naval architectural duties such as calculation of weights and moments for naval ships and submarines, dry docking plans, weight distribution, trim dives, inclining tests, etc. - Held security clearances.
