I have served as an electronics technician specialising in weapons for the past 16 years. My posting history includes sea postings to HMA Ships Kanimbla, Toowoomba, Ballarat, Anzac, Stuart and Parramatta, and I am currently posted to the commissioning crew of NUSHIP Brisbane.I have also worked in mixed tri-service and civilian environments at Defence Force Recruiting and Fleet Headquarters. I have extensive experience working with civilian contractors, project managers and service providers through postings to ships undergoing Anti-ship Missile Defence upgrades, and as a Commonwealth representative to the Air Warfare Destroyer Alliance.From 2009, I began part-time study towards a Bachelor of Law, and have continued that study over a number of postings and deployments. I anticipate completing my degree in November of 2018.I also keep very busy with extra curricular activities, which has included being involved in ships safety teams and welfare and mess committees; as well as being a damage control instructor, hazardous substance safety officer and explosives accounting officer.I have a very inclusive and level headed management style, focusing on ensuring my subordinates opinions and perspectives are valued. I hold myself to very high standards, and I have secured a reputation as a reliable and hard-working sailor.
