My role as PSE includes several responsibilities that are within and outside the traditional role of SE. My primary mission is to partner with key accounts within the UK Central Government, formulating multi-year strategic partnerships, guiding business outcome-driven strategies, procurements and other related activities such as trusted-advisor and mentoring roles. I am part of a highly successful team with a proven track record of success and stellar growth over the last 5 years.Parallel to this, I represent Fortinet UK & EMEA on public speaking initiatives addressing key themes, technologies and messages. Attendees often number into the hundreds and common topics include: 1. SD-WAN2. Security Operations3. Artificial Intelligence (AI)4. Trends and opinion pieces. I retain a role as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Security Operations Centre (SOC) services. supporting the wider UK&I team on programmes including Security Orchestration & Automated Response (SOAR), Security Incident & Event Management (SIEM) and Network Monitoring use-cases. This SME role enables to me to work with every major vertical in the UK, from Small to Medium Business (SMB) to Global Enterprise clients. Lastly, my role also enables me to mentor our up-and-coming talent in the form of placement students, providing a helping hand and educational support where required to ensure the newest entrants to our field are armed with the skills to help them excel in their careers.

My clients are key Central Government agencies within UK Public Sector and the National Health Service (NHS). My role is to champion cyber security within my customers and partners, help design and steer policy within these organisations and align Fortinet's products and services to best support our key Public Sector bodies and protect them while undertaking sensitive projects spanning internal and external services along with Critical National Infrastructure (CNI).As a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in SD-WAN and Security Operations Centre (SOC) services, I also support the wider UK&I team on deals including Software Defined WAN/LAN, Security Orchestration & Automated Response (SOAR) and Security Incident & Event Management (SIEM).

My role at Exponential-e, initially started as Pre-sales Graduate in 2013 following a placement year. Following 3 successful years at London Head Office in a team of 10, I relocated to the Manchester (Regional) function of the business to support the growth of the regional sales team from hundreds of thousands revenue in 2016 to £2M in 2017 and then to further support growth up to a target of £4M in 2018. My Role at Exponential-e enabled me to take a flexible and agile approach to solution design and implementation where bespoke solutions are “business as usual”. As a first port of call for sales and partners I was required to effectively requirement gather through various means, such as conference calls, meetings or whiteboard sessions. I had to be constantly up-to-date on new and emerging technologies and services, as well as emerging business trends to be able to effectively understand customer needs.As Exponential-e is an ICT Managed Service provider my role encompassed the entire stack across a typical business unit:• Next generation Virtual Private LAN Service (VPLS) Wide Area Networks (WAN) • SD-WAN• Security Information Event Management (SIEM) Solutions involving Palo Alto, FortiGate, Penetration Testing, Audit’s etc.• SIP, Hosted Telephony and UCC from Broadsoft• Multi-vendor Cloud environment design and implementationThis gave me the unique position in having a wide reaching skill set with regards to best practice methodologies for most sectors in the UK economy, enabling me to design an end-to-end solutions for a customer without the need to incorporate various specialities or business areas within Exponential-e.

Placement as a Presales Consultant for an initial nine months, extending to over a year undertaking large projects with key partners such as Vodafone and Gamma Telecom working largely autonomously and proving my self as a diligent, hard working member of the team, valued by both my colleagues and partners.
