Dan King began his insurance career in 1978 as a captive agent with CalFarm Insurance, the leader in farm insurance in California. After CalFarm was bought by Zenith Insurance, Dan and his two business partners started Blackhawke Insurance Services, Inc. In 2001, both the Woodland Chamber of Commerce and the Woodland Hispanic Chamber of Commerce named Blackhawke Insurance Business Member of the year. In 2003 the partners made the decision to merge with InterWest Insurance Services, Inc. At the time of the merger, Dan began to focus on the area of employee benefits. With 36 years of insurance experience, Dan has the knowledge and expertise to assist his clients in developing and administering overall benefit plans. Currently, Dan is on the Board of Directors of Woodland Christian School, Calvary Baptist Church and Friends of the Mission. He previously served on the boards of Woodland Chamber of Commerce and Woodland Adult Softball Association.. He has also served as a member of Woodland Joint Unified School District’s Ag Education Advisory Committee and Woodland Joint Unified School District’s Bond Oversight Committee. Dan and his wife, Laura, have been married for 27 years. They have a daughter in college at Corban University in Salem, Oregon and Dan’s son & grandson live in Glendora, California. Dan has resided in Woodland for the past 45 years.
