My role as associate editor for Manchester Newspapers is essentially a balance of being a reporter and an editor. As associate editor I oversee a department of three editorial workers, including myself. I dictate story ideas to reporters while also covering government, school and sports in Whitehall. In addition to writing and editing, I layout the pages.

As the sole reporter for the Whitehall Times, I cover any news pertinent to Whitehall, NY, including politics, government, sports and human interest stories. In addition to my role as Whitehall Times reporter, I also cover the town of Hartford for another one of Manchester Newspapers' publications, the Granville Sentinel. I am also tasked with editing all.

Niagara University

I was public address announcer for Niagara University's NCAA division 1 baseball team, women's lacrosse team and men's and women's soccer. I read the public address announcements, operated the scoreboard, controlled the music selection, and help the SID's with game statistics.

I was the first play by play voice in the history of Niagara University's ACHA club hockey team. All of our broadcasts streamed live on fasthockey.com and are also archived there. Our three man broadcast team was responsible for all aspects of the broadcast.

I worked in Hannaford Supermarket's butcher shop and seafood section, where my duties included customer service, cleaning, grinding hamburger, organizing meat and seafood displays, weighing and pricing products, and many others.

I served as the head of Niagara University's student spirit/cheering organization, for nearly my entire time at the school. I was in charge of meeting with members of the athletic department to determine the best ways to increase student attendance, helping the athletics department come up with different promotional activities, coming to home sporting.

My main task was Board-Op work for remote broadcasts on the FM stations and for New York Mets' baseball games on the AM stations. I also helped with production and programming work for FM stations 101.7 100.3 and 107.1 (Glens Falls, NY). Finally I shadowed on-air talent, in order to learn the keys to successfully running an on-air show.

The other communications intern and I rotated play by play duties for the team's home games on www.teamline.com. Whichever one of us did play by play for the day was also in charge of writing the post game article. Whomever was not doing play by play, was in charge of on field promotions and using social media to keep the fans up to date with the game.

I co-hosted a weekly sports talk radio show called "The Penalty Box" on WNIA radio, on Tuesday nights from 8-10. We talked about the big topics in sports, and played great classic rock!

I worked as a pro shop attendant/cart boy at Tee Bid Golf Club, where I was involved in customer service, working with money, cleaning golf carts, picking the driving range, cleaning the pro shop and many other duties.
