Dan is an accomplished global leader in the banking and financial industry, with a 28-year track record of delivering high value and strong leadership. He has run a global team of Financial Markets and Treasury experts that has been at the cutting edge of managing and optimising risks. The winning mindset Dan has inculcated in his teams has allowed them to be at the forefront of major banking and market developments. Viewed by stakeholders as composed, driven, and innovative, Dan’s international expertise and leadership have created strong followership, and led to a robust and lasting legacy in the Financial Markets industry both in Singapore and across the region. Trusted by regulators, Dan is often tasked to lead the industry in getting all the stakeholders together to brainstorm and then execute on market leading developments. His vision and gravitas have been significant in pulling numerous (and often conflicting) stakeholders through many tough decision points. A recent example is when Dan led the industry together to come up with SORA, the Singapore Overnight Rate Average, which is now the benchmark for interest rates in Singapore. Aside from being a Board member of Standard Chartered Bank in Singapore, and on its Board Risk Committee, he also serves on the Board of Trustees of the ISEAS-Yusof Ishak Institute, a local Statutory Board of Singapore, while also advising on that Investment Committee. Dan holds an MA from the University of Oxford (PPE), and has completed his Executive Diploma in Directorship from the Singapore Management University/ Singapore Institute of Directors. For his services and contributions to the financial industry, Dan was conferred the IBF Distinguished Fellow award, the highest accolade for the industry.
