Manager, Video Information SystemBall State University Apr 1993 - Jan 2001Video Information System (VIS) was the first fiber optic media retrieval system in the country. It began with partners AT&T, Dynacom and Bell Industries as The Campus of the Future Project at Ball State Univeristy. In 1988 the single mode fiber optic media delivery system opened with 188 classrooms. By 2001 it had grown to over 350 classrooms. It was finally decommissioned in January of 2011. A technology that lasted 23 years is an amazing testiment to its viabiilty as a technology.
