Adjutant, First Troop Philadelphia City Cavalry
CurrentThe adjutant of the First Troop Philadelphia City Cavalry is the face of the organization and manages day-to-day activities including rentals and business management. There are about 500 living members of the Troop, of various rolls, which dates back to 1774. It was then known as the Philadelphia Light Horse and served during the American Revolution. The Troop has been in continuous service since then, and today is Troop A, 1st Squadron, 104th Cavalry, Pennsylvania National Guard. There is a club for the members and a museum which is open by appointment.
Rental Sales Agent
CurrentAs the rental agent, I seek those pursuing a special experience for their event, like trade shows, weddings, conferences, and meetings. The historic Armory offers event planners a unique range of distinctive and economical solutions to answer the question of “where?” Two primary spaces accommodate a variety of functions. The Drill Hall is approximately 14,000 square feet. The second area is the third-floor Dining Hall, about 2600 square feet, which has 120 chairs, tables, a podium with a microphone, and a projector and screen. We offer flexibility, as there is no preferred vendor list. Commercial parking is available within two blocks of the facility. Situated on 23rd Street, between Market and Chestnut, the Armory’s location is ideal, offering easy walking distances from rail and subway stations, including 30th Street Station.
