The Product Development Logistics Manager position provides a single point of contact for material demand management required for the pre-production build of customer’s products. Working with manual and Epicor applications, this individual interfaces with program managers, engineers, pilot production manager, and planners to create a materials definition and availability plan, prior to demand being loaded into Epicor for procurement action. This position's specific responsibilities include group and project level demand management approach, managing design change implementation, dynamic schedules, ensuring on-time delivery of quality materials, and coordination of inventory to meet pre-production build requirements

· Develop a Subcontract Execution Plan, including coordination of the Sourcing Strategy, for assigned projects and review with Project Management.· Review flow-down requirements from the Prime Contract with Legal and create Special Conditions of Purchase Template.· Generate and Maintain the Project Procurement Status Report and update Project Management weekly.· Ensure that all required permissions are established in DCAP for the Commodity Buyers to execute the project work.· Load all required procurement documents (General Terms and Conditions, Special Conditions of Purchase, etc…) into DCAP for inclusion in commodity RFQ’s/Purchases.· Ensure that the supply chain is fully engaged from RFQ thru design, fabrication and final delivery.· Provide SCM support in pursuit of key corporate business objectives.· Review all Supplier contracts, specifications and requirements.· Conduct an initial Supplier kick-off meeting/call for the purpose of reviewing the Supplier Checklist and obtaining a signed Purchase Order Acknowledgement.· Ensure all transmittals to Suppliers on assigned projects are received, and transmittal acknowledgements are returned.· Ensure that all Suppliers meet project cost/schedule/performance requirements.· Attend Project Team meetings.· Conduct Supplier Kick-Off Meetings and Pre-Production Meetings with Suppliers as required.· Manage supplier schedules including progress reporting of engineering deliverables, raw material procurement, fabrication, assembly and test, shipping preparation and final delivery.· Manage all deliverables scheduled as shown in the Document Data Transmittal Schedule (DDTS). · Anticipation and risk mitigation of issues that will impede Supplier performance and purchase order requirements.· Supplier issue resolution.· Track and report on all open Purchase Orders utilizing real-time PO Tracking Report.

Ø Responsible for coordinating work orders for production by working closely with both Sales and Production to ensure 100% on time delivery for our customers.Ø Ensure production technicians have correct and complete BOMs and equipment to manufacture the products.Ø Purchase a wide variety of materials including metals, chemicals, glass components, electronic components, packaging, and equipment.Ø Establish and maintain strong supplier relations through team work and honesty. Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and long term blanket order contracts.Ø Manage W.I.P. – Issuing of jobs, working with other departments to maintain delivery schedules, and filling of parts shortages. Responsible for accuracy of W.I.P., and initiating Engineering Change Notices.Ø Manage inventory levels and costs of more than 3,000 part numbers totaling over 1.5 million dollars by using Lean Manufacturing, and Kan Ban practices, and reports MRP systems such as Vantage, Mapics, and Encore.Ø Assist other departments such as Sales and Marketing, AP, and shipping as needed.Ø Active member of the Safety Committee, and work closely with the ISO Coordinator to implement and maintain ISO 9001.Ø Assist with Quality Control to identify discrepant materials and poor supplier performance. Issue corrective actions and qualify new vendors.Ø Report directly to the Vice President of Operations on all day to day activities and issues.
