Daniel Michael, a co-founder of Neptune and Company, has over 25 years of experience supporting environmental decision-making and data collection design, implementation and assessment. Dan was part of the EPA team that developed the DQO process. Since that time (mid-1980s), he has continued to support EPA’s Quality System and associated guidance development, and has applied the DQO process to more than 100 projects involving characterization, risk evaluation and monitoring of contaminants in surface water, groundwater, soil, sediment and air. Dan pioneered the application of the DQO process to risk based corrective action problems at CERCLA and RCRA sites, developed strategies for implementation of the process at several large Federal facilities and has successfully applied these concepts to the development of integrated monitoring programs and environmental management systems at several Federal facilities.Specialties: DQO facilitation, sample design, munitions site investigation, quality system development
