Utilizing protocols in the provision of care, assisting the medical staff with patient evaluations and treatment, performing phlebotomy for forensic purposes, independently obtaining patient histories and performing patient assessments, focused physical exams, diagnostic testing such as EKGs and UA and providing emergency care when necessary, conducting sick call rounds, assisting with procedures and creating and maintaining medical records.

Telemetry, DOU, Med Surge RN

Provide care on busy med/surge telemetry floor at a Community hospital that serves many underprivileged patients. Perform physical assessments, medication administration / IV fluids, and monitored daily progress. Track lab values and results, updating physicians when appropriate. Competent in Nursing Skills like: Foley catheter, nasogastric tube and IV insertion, G/PEG feeding tubes and Trach care: monitored intake and output. Effectively prioritize assignments. Assignments' may include floating to orthopedic/surgery floor - skill in addition to above include pain management, PCA pump drug administration, use of CPM machines, and post-surgical care of patients with various orthopedic surgeries.Ensure the best most cohesive patient care possible by partnering with other medical personnel and communicating effectively with patients' family members.
