Network Engineer Ii
• Design service order requests for DSL, FAST, DIA, TCLS, ELINE, ELAN, and EDIA for bothretail and wholesale customers utilizing FairPoint support systems.• Provision and Activate DSL, FAST, DIA, TCLS, ELINE, and ELAN orders in the Juniper, Cisco6509,3600,7604,7609 and ASR9K routers.• Push policies in EchoVault database for contracted service level agreements.• Implement initial configuration of Y1731.• Provide Tier II technical support for the Transport Activation Center on test and turn upwith the customer. Assist customers with network issues during test and turn upprocess. This requires on call rotation of coverage until 9:00 PM, Monday throughFriday.• Available to assist in off-hour turn ups and feature change requests.• Scrub juniper routers to clean up incorrect DSL inventory.• Interface with various departments to assist in a timely customer turn-up.• Associated M6 tasks: ACTV-EVC, ACTVFRY, CKTIDMOD, DNS, IPASSIGN, NETDSGN,PORTASGN, TCLSCNFG, VLANDSGN, and VLANID.• Troubleshooting Y1731 Performance Monitoring configurations.• Design and configure Multiple Classes of Service.• Assist with MetroNODE/ASR9K turn-ups, running extended ping once physical/data linkconnectivity is established, and configuring port initially on ASR9K.• Create profile templates and set up policies in EchoVault database for contractedservice level agreements.• Work with Operations and Architecture team to troubleshoot CES data circuits androuters.• Test new products and services in the test environment.• May act as a team lead within department, work unit, or project, act as advisor toproject team members, or provide guidance and training to others, as well as developjob aids.• Perform job duties consistent with safety, legal and regulatory requirements, companystandards, culture, and business practices.
