Served as NASA MSFC Chief S&MA Officer (CSO) for MSFC Constellation Program. This included the design and development of the Ares I, Ares V, and Ares I-X launch vehicles with special emphasis on the Ares I-X mission. Provided guidance, definition, planning, and execution of S&MA objectives to a broad technical and managerial community. Coordinated MSFC activities with NASA's Johnson Space Center and Kennedy Space Center.
Served as NASA Chief S&MA Officer for the Ares I-X Mission. This included teams of engineers and inspectors spread across five NASA Centers and several Prime Contractor sites. Provided leadership, guidance, definition, planning, and execution of S&MA program objectives to a broad technical and managerial community. In 2009, Ares I-X was the first new launch vehicle to launch from NASA's Kennedy Space Center Complex 39 since the launch of the Space Shuttle in 1981. Served as NASA MSFC's first Chief SR&QA Engineer (subsequently renamed Chief S&MA Officer) for the Space Shuttle Program. Provided leadership, guidance, definition, planning, and execution of S&MA objectives to a broad technical and managerial community associated with the Space Shuttle's solid and liquid propulsion systems. This included the Space Shuttle's Solid Rocket Boosters, External Tank and Main Engines. As part of these duties, provided close coordination with NASA Headquarters as well as Johnson and Kennedy Space Centers. Awards: Recipient of NASA Agency-level Special Service Award and Significant Accomplishment Award
