I scheduled student rosters and organized online attendance sheets for instructors; communicated with staff, parents, and students on a frequent basis; implemented behavior expectations which included follow-up and modifications for individual students; maintained facilities and met with custodians when needed; was challenged by and solved problems daily.

Co-facilitated the development of a standards-based, relevant, rigorous math intervention program using schoology as a learning management system for grades 6-8. I also taught 7th grade Pre-Algebra, 6th grade essentials Math, and 6th grade Social Studies.

Spent six weeks working closely with an analytical chemist on an actual 3M research project specializing in gas chromatography.

I taught Algebra 1 and Geometry in a 1-to-1 iPad low income middle school, I was a regular administrative substitute for the principal to handle disciplinary issues, I was a house leader to organize PLC’s for improvements in student achievement and behavior, I was a Middle School Math Leader to collaborate with others for best practice among building and district, I was a member of AVID site team to increase school-wide learning and performance, and I was a member of district Data and Assessment committee to use data to drive instruction.

I worked with professional learning communities to develop 7th grade math benchmarks and aligned curriculum with Common Core in a district that previously did not have a tangible curriculum. I implemented and trained staff on AIMsweb to have a progress monitoring tool for Response to Intervention. As a middle school behavior coach, I integrated elements of PBIS into the building behavior team. In addition, I piloted co-teaching with the special education department to increase test scores of at-risk students and special education students. I was a member of the building leadership team, standards based grading committee, RtI committee, and diversity committee. I also led meetings for the standards based grading committee as well as facilitated MAPS training to improve knowledge and develop culture of learning for staff. In addition, I began the implementation of peer coaching in the math department working extensively with the 6th grade Math teacher. Moreover, I have experience and am comfortable presenting information to my peers as well as the school board.

I taught 6th Grade Health, Science, Leveled Math and Reading, Writing, and Spelling. I have gone through Steve Dunn balanced literacy training. I taught an after school Targeted Services program to raise test scores of low achieving students. I also taught 5th grade summer school Math and Reading.

I taught 7th grade Literature and 7th & 8th grade Math. I was also the assistant athletic director as well as the boys varsity baseball assistant coach.
