As Chief Information Officer for the past 4+ years, I have been responsible for evaluating and updating the manner in which Heart Imaging Technologies creates its product, deploys that product to customers, and supports that product in the field. These responsibilities have touched upon the tools and methods used to develop and release software, those used to deploy and configure software, the networking technologies that facilitate both of these processes, and the hardware platforms required to host and serve cloud-based versions of our enterprise products.Further, I have worked with the business side of the company to streamline the delivery and implementation of purchase orders, and to improve the documentation of all involved processes necessary to preserve the ongoing business relationship with our customers. This includes an overhaul of the project management processes at Heart Imaging Technologies for more efficient tracking of orders in progress.

A release coordinator is:Facilitator - serves as a liaison between varying business units to guarantee smooth and timely delivery of software products or updates. Gatekeeper - “holds the keys” to production systems/applications and takes responsibility for their implementations. Architect - helps to identify, create and/or implement processes or products to efficiently manage the release of code. Server application support engineer - help troubleshoot problems with an application. Coordinator - utilized to coordinate disparate source trees, projects, teams and components.

ITC's Network Systems group is a 15 person team that develops and manages all University-owned systems considered crucial to the operation of the University at large. Examples include network infrastructure, email and webmail systems, centralized user identity databasing, course registration systems, Usenet news services, calendaring systems, DNS and DHCP services, firewalling designs, wireless networking, and developing overall security practices and policies.My personal role in this group was largely in software development and systems administration. Over 8 years, I've created 6 major systems in use at the University, and been instrumental in the development of numerous support tools used internally by Network Systems and the Help Desk. Additionally, I've provided basic-level backup on a number of the systems listed above, and served as troubleshooter when the primary caretakers were not available.

Category4 is a web design firm that develops sites on a contract basis. Many contracts involved eCommerce and required heavy database functionality as well as secure programming practices. Category4's servers ran BSD based operating systems, and the primary programming desktop environment was Linux. MySQL and Postgres served as the main databasing packages, with Apache being the webserver of choice. PERL ,PHP, and Java were used as programming languages - with the latter being employed least often.I was part of the tightknit 4 to 5 person programming team that designed and bid on contracts, then developed projects to order.

Mosaic Technologies specialized in technology transfer and management consulting services. Focusing on product development, application, and marketing, Mosaic aimed to fit new products and technologies into the markets to which they were most suited.My role in this company was to develop the "Enesorb" product, an electromagnetically absorptive material created by the Otari Corporation of Tokyo, Japan.
