Working in Building Services Design & Coordination, Prefabrication, Construction, DfMA.Providing innovative prefabricated, modular & traditional building services solutions for mechanical, electrical and plumbing trades. While performing a primary role as Design & Engineering Manager with a small start up, it also allowed me cover the roles of Project Manager, Factory Manager & also have input into Business Development.As a Project Manager I ran HVAC projects which included museums, universities, schools & hospitals, modular prefabricated restaurants & refurbishment projects in existing hotels, restaurants & office blocks.I have worked as Drafting Manager, leading a large team of talented in house HVAC mechanical detail drafters/modeler's across multiple states & also offshore teams. Ensuring everyone has the support, training & equipment that they need to be able to perform to the very best of their abilities, as a group we endeavored to keep morale high within the drawing office & make sure that we had good interdepartmental working relations with our project managers, engineers, estimators, factory & site installation teams.As a Lead Project Drafter I have worked on nuclear power station projects, stadium projects, hospital projects, rail projects as well as large industrial, commercial, health care & retail projects. Utilising point cloud laser scanning & Trimble. Using Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, Recap & other Autodesk software, independently & in cloud based collaboration BIM models.Worked as a Design Engineer in the defence, nuclear & paper industries, working to tight shutdown restrictions & time frames, also on several projects requiring very high levels of security clearance.I've run my own business both in the UK & Australia providing independent AEC drafting for contractors, consultancies & manufacturers.Working through the GFC & Covid and having initial visa related changes in the first couple of years after arriving in Australia. It has opened up avenues for me to develop, diversify and gain experience with a wide range of companies, become very resilient & determined to succeed!I believe Prefabrication & the modularising of buildings, building services, plantrooms, risers, equipment skids & off site construction in general will form an ever increasing part of the construction industry, in industrial, commercial & domestic sectors, due to Green, LEAN, OH&S and timeframe benefits over traditional construction methods.
