Responsible for medium to long term plans, designs, schedules and block management plans taking a risk based approach to determine the best solution for the mine. During this time I have had the opportunity to step up as the Longwall Coordinator as well as working on shift as the Mining Supervisor responsible for execution of the longwall pre install and relocation.

Responsible for the creating of medium to long term detailed plans across Development, Longwall and Outbye Departments of the mine.Accountable for the Appin Planning system and the maintenance/ improvements to the systemCreated weekly reporting systems and generated performance reports for the management teamRan all weekly monthly/rolling 12 week planning meetings.Monitored performance against the plan and helped to collaboratively produce solutions to the challenges of running an underground coal mine.

Worked as a Deputy in the following areas: Outbye / Projects and Shotfiring Conveyor Belts Gas Drainage DevelopmentSupervising personnel to drive safety and performance as well as working with coordinators to ensure all required equipment and materials are on the job when needed. Planning ahead to the next job sites so they are ready and supplied.Dealing with any variations and reporting on shift performance to plan.

Responsible for the Monthly, Weekly and Daily plans at Appin Colliery. Bringing all departments together to work with limited resources to the mines priorities. Responsible for implementing a MOS system at the mine.During this time I designed a new excel based planning system and project managed the development of this system. Once complete I rolled this system out to them mine and managed its maintenance and any required upgrades.Developed systems and processes that drove accountability and planning discipline.

Responsible for all underground contract labour and equipment hire contracts at Illawarra Coal (2 Mines and over $60million annual spend).Ran major tenders for both contract labour and equipment hire awarding long term contracts and managing contract KPI's, claims and contractual issues. Demobilised unsuccessful incumbents and mobilised new contractors.Gained experience with resource shortages and helped the mine prioritise work based on available labourGain Experience in industrial action and spoke at multiple communication sessions with large groups of people.

I worked in a team that was responsible for reducing South32's External Spend by 25%. I was focused on Illawarra Coal but also spent time at head office in Perth on regional initiatives. At Illawarra Coal we met out target of $125m AUD by bringing multi-departmental teams together to spend smarter and waste less. I personally coached the teams and helped to find solutions as well as helped with analytical support. We drove this process through strict cadence and reporting which I was a critical part of, this was reported through to the senior leadership team of South32's Australian Region.

Responsible for integrating a $1 Billion Capital Expansion Projects Monthly Weekly and Daily Planning into the mines existing planning system. Communicating all interactions and scheduling activity to meet the projects overall Project Schedule. Reporting on variations, weekly progress and delays.Project Managed various projects including: Installation of a new LW Monorail system and the timely delivery of the equipment from pit top to the job site Installation and Upgrade of all Ventilation Control Devices in the vicinity of a brand new Ventilation Shaft prior to holing and prior to commissioning

Worked as an operator underground on various shifts for various departments. Gained experience in Longwall, Development, Mine Services, Longwall Change Outs, Major Fall Recovery and Longwall Pre Installs.
