• As a sculptor, I exhibit my smaller scale work in galleries while competing for public art commissions. I work in a wide range of scale and a variety of materials ranging from wood, metal, and plastic fabrication to mold-making and foundry processes. I have experience in fabrication consultation, project planning, and material acquisition. I am also skilled in digital photography, video, computer modeling, graphic layout and design.•My art work is mostly based on my personal experiences and how they are influenced by the social and physical minutiae I encounter daily. The aesthetics of my sculpture originate from an interest in folklore, science, and toys meshed with my background in a variety of fields from working as a cabinetmaker to serving as a veterinary assistant.Dan Perry's artwork has been exhibited regionally and nationally from Texas to Tennessee and Kentucky to Kansas. Notable venues included The Des Moines Art Center, The Sioux City Art Center, and The Cole Art Center. Recently, Dan’s work was included in the 2010 Texas National Exhibition and he completed commissions for the University of Northern Iowa and a commission to design and build the cauldron for the 2010 National Special Olympics Games. His artwork is also a part of several public, private and institutional collections.
