About Dan Potter

I am an experienced IT Manager of 15 years, specialising in the operational leadership, delivery and recovery of large \ complex \ strategically critical IT engineering projects using mutli-supplier sourced teams in Waterfall, Agile, DevOps methodologies as appropriate. My mission is to reduce the cost of reliable IT provision and development by leading the right people to make appropriate software choices and purchases, helping teams choose the right engineering approaches, and making sure the cost of ownership of these services stays low, so that we ensure businesses can get the absolute best value for money and confidently grow their enterprise with reliable IT at their heart. Like many of my colleagues I have faced major challenges during the COVID pandemic, as such I have invested heavily in my new business venture Yorknest.com. I'm incredibly proud of the new capabilities I have built out on to Google Cloud. Using the cloud infrastructure I am able to offer IT services to SME business that historically have been only in reach for large corporations with data centres. As a result I can offer professional eCommerce Platforms, Digital Marketing, Search Optimisation, Data Analytics, Process Transformation to Small and Medium enterprises and help them transform from high street to online and scale out across the globe.

As the programme manager responsible for the software re-engineering of the Customer Platform, I report to numerous stakeholders. I’m required to provide: a) business change impacts to business stakeholders; b) budgetary, delivery and scope control insight to the Head of Digital IT; c) resource utilisation and KPI adherence to Operational Management; d) engineering compliance to Architectural Governance; e) change management to Operational teams f) supplier contracts, scope and financial change management, invoice achievement agreements and offshore performance KPIs to Procurement stakeholders. I replaced Steering Group level presentation pack reports with business benefits delivery focused reports, based on data driven metrics gathered using JIRA, as well as Supplier Management, Project Management and Finance Management tools specific to LBG.Accountable for strategic development of platform capabilities.
