Leading and assisting senior engineers on telecom infrastructure designs of existing and future assets on a variety of schemes which cover both station and lineside related telecoms. This involves producing scheme layouts that cover telephony connectivity. As well as producing design reports that detail the requirements of the design, and full scope of telecoms involvement. This role also includes the checking of necessary documents such as site survey reports. There is also some involvement in the bid process, contributing to the delegation of appropriate grades to certain tasks and deliverables in order to correctly present project costs. Taking on the role of Telecoms Contractors Responsible Engineer (CRE) under mentorship and communicating with key inhouse and third-party project stakeholders.

As Deputy Site Lead, I take charge of multiple on site surveys for the Rail Telecoms team, ensuring the timely and precise production of all necessary deliverables. With a Personal Track Safety (PTS) Certification, I lead both pre and onsite briefings, ensuring that all team members are well-prepared and informed. My role also involves meticulous survey resource planning and management, along with the creation of comprehensive safety and survey scope documentation. My proactive approach and attention to detail ensure the highest standards of safety and efficiency in all survey operations, championing the safety first approach.

BIM (Aug 2019 - Aug 2020):Worked on rail projects, producing detailed CAD drawings, 3D models, and point cloud schematics using software like MicroStation and Bentley Descartes. Ensured the accuracy of digital models for multidisciplinary use.Key responsibilities:• Extracted and managed CAD data from topographical and point cloud surveys.• Developed models for track layout, clearance analyses, and integration with OLE and geotechnical teams.• Managed project documentation and workflows through platforms like ProjectWise.Telecoms (Aug 2020 - Jul 2024):Led and supported telecom infrastructure designs for station and lineside schemes, including creating layouts for telephony connectivity and producing design reports. Starting my career at WSP straight after secondary school, joining their apprenticeship scheme and becoming part of the Building Information Management (BIM) team. During this time, I worked as a CAD resource on various railway projects, producing detailed drawings, models, 3D point cloud schematics, and gained experience in document control. This included overseeing CAD QA/QC and managing project areas using ProjectWise, giving me a solid grounding in digital project coordination.I later moved into the Permanent Way (PWay) team, where I broadened my experience in track engineering and design. My role involved contributing to PWay design work and using ClearRoute software to calculate gauging clashes for the CAF Gauging Project, helping to identify and resolve potential conflicts.
