Supervises meteorological and navigation systems maintenance activities. Oversees work and reviews completed repairs for sound practices. Establishes requirements for maintenance and support equipment, tools and spare parts. Requisitions, accounts for, and turns in supplies and material. Diagnoses and recommends repair, replacement or depot overhaul. Certifies navigation facilities after repair actions or flight inspections. Interprets inspection findings and determines adequacy of corrective action. Reviews and ensures compliance withmaintenance management publications and procedures. Develops and enforces safety standards for Airfield Systems activities. Resolves technical problems and improves maintenance methods/techniques. Interprets technical specifications and provides guidance. Solves technical problems requiring interpretation of schematic, logic and wiring diagrams. Installs, removes and relocates Airfield Systems equipment. Studies system characteristics, local terrain, and planned facilities and requirements. Determines equipment position based on plans, diagrams and specifications. Manages, supervises, and performs planning and implementation activities. Managesimplementation and project installation and ensures architecture, configuration, and integration conformity. Develops, plans, and integrates communications systems. Serves as advisor at meetings for facility design, construction programs and minor construction planning. Evaluates comprehensive plan and civil engineering projects. Monitors status of civil engineer work requests. Performs mission review with customers. Controls, manages, and monitors project milestones and funding from inception to completion. Determines adequacy andcorrectness of project packages and amendments. Monitors project status and completion actions. Manages and maintains system installation records, files, and indexes. Evaluates contracts, support, and contingency plans to determine impact on manpower and equipment.
