As Service Coordinator on the HS2, Old Oak Common Station project, is to ensure a safe system of work is in place, approved and followed when undertaking excavation works or when working in the vicinity of overhead lines.Ensure that necessary information regarding services is available, from updating record searches regularly to ensuring the correct level of survey has been carried out before breaking ground. Carry out on site inspections to check compliance with the 'permit to break ground' (PTBG) procedure, also providing guidance and support when required for both buried and overhead assets. Review all permits relating to breaking ground within the project.Responsible for the management and maintenance of the online live permit to break ground platform. Review as built information provided by contractors ensuring the live services model is updated as close to real time as possible.Review permit to break ground requests and associated documentation from permit requesters, to include a review of:o Competency of Service Locator o Calibration certificates for utility locating tools (CAT & Genny).o Ensure there is an accepted risk assessment and method statement (RAMS) documentation.o Checks to seek evidence that utility owners permissions and guidance has been sought regarding the scope of works as detailed in RAMS- this will include both buried services and overhead services.o Drawings have been provided with clearly defined excavation boundaries, such as a fence line, a trench plan or co-ordinates.o A suitable and recent PAS 128 Level B survey along with the statutory record searches has been undertaken.The Services Coordinator will add additional controls required on the permit to fall in line with safe excavation techniques, HSG47, asset owner controls and GS6.

My role as Service Coordinator on the HS2 project is to ensure a safe system of work is established when undertaking excavation works or when working in the vicinity of overhead lines using either items of plant or whether digging methods by hand for excavation are utilised.Ensure that necessary information regarding services is available and undertakes the actions specified within the Fusion 'permit to break ground' (PTBG) procedure. Will provide guidance and support as required that covers not only buried services but overhead services as well. Approve all permits relating to breaking ground within the project.Responsible for the management and maintenance of the live permit to break ground register and the cancellation and close out of all completed/expired permits upon receipt from site. Along with the CAD Technician, review and compile as built information provided by Site Managers to update existing records.Review permit to break ground requests and associated documentation from permit requester, confirming with the nominated person requesting the permit to break ground the full extent of the intended activity. This will include a review of:o Competency of Service Locator o Calibration certificates for utility locating tools (CAT & Genny).o Ensure there is an accepted risk assessment and method statement (RAMS) documentation.o Checks to seek evidence that utility owners permissions and guidance has been sought regarding the scope of works as detailed in RAMS- this will include both buried services and overhead services.o Drawings have been provided with clearly defined excavation boundaries, such as a fence line, a trench plan or co-ordinates.o A suitable and recent PAS 128 Level B survey along with the statutory record searches has been undertaken.The Services Coordinator will add additional controls required on the permit to fall in line with the Fusion safe excavation techniques, HSG47 and GS6.

Take permit requests and raise the required paperwork for the permit to break ground. Ensure that all practicable steps have been taken to obtain service location information from Service Owners/Statutory Undertakers, and that any further survey works such as ground penetrating radar has been used where required. Maintain, coordinate and ensure all services drawings are updated to ensure the site teams have the most up to date information for site. Manage the Service Locators and provide guidance and support where necessary.

Responsible and ensuring all necessary precautions and safety measures are in place before the commencement of any ground breaking activities. Managing and authorizing the production of permits and ensures all services are adequately protected throughout the duration of the project. Implements a permit to excavate system so all site operatives confidently understand the dangers and their responsibility when working near buried services. Maintaining and updating a live CAD model with the most up to date information regarding buried services.

Responsible for coordinating a team with the responsibility and awareness with regards to working near or adjacent to live buried services. Ensures all necessary precautions and safety measures are in place before the commencement of ground penetration. Managing and authorizing the production of permits and ensures all services are adequately protected throughout the duration of the project.

Responsible for the protection, safety procedures and the awareness of critical utilities throughout the construction of the Olympic Park. Ensured all construction companies working within our PC boundary followed all safety precautions & utility owners procedures throughout their proposed excavations. Monitored all works regarding ground penetration to ensure all utilities were adequately protected, this avoiding any disruption to the construction of the Olympic Park.
