Dan Staples has a diverse range of work experience, primarily in the field of education advocacy and union leadership. He has been serving as the President of the Manchester Township Education Association since 2013, where he presides over meetings of the Executive Board, Representative Council, and General Membership. He is also responsible for appointing Committee Chairs and members, filling vacancies in elected positions, and representing the Association at various conferences and trainings.Prior to his role as President, Dan served as the 1st Vice President and concurrently held the positions of Negotiations Chair and Legislative Chair. He has also served as the Head Association Rep, leading a team of three AR's and promptly addressing any and all contract violations. In addition to his local experience, Dan has served as a D.A. Alternate for the Ocean County Council of Education Associations and as a Region 7 UniServ Consultant for the NJEA.Dan has also been involved in various advocacy and training initiatives, including the NJEA Center For Honesty In Education, the NJEA Patriots Alliance Planning Board, and the Educator Action Network. He has attended numerous training and educational conferences and holds certifications in Grievance Arbitration and PCA Arbitration.Before his career in education advocacy, Dan served in the United States Marine Corps as a Military Police Officer. He earned a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from Stockton University, graduating Magna Cum Laude.
