I decided to take a career break and travelled around Australia & New Zealand before returning to the UK.

Bedford

This was a customer facing role whereby I conducted reviews with customers and provided advice on mortgage products and financial protection to meet the customer’s financial needs. As a Senior Adviser I was also responsible for providing coaching and training to other staff members. This was a very target driven role with the monthly target being measured on four elements; sales, compliance, risk and quality. We also had KPI’s which we had to achieve, based on areas of improvement at any given time. During my time in this role I consistently achieved my targets and KPI’s. Most of the work required to achieve targets was carried out through report writing, calling potential customers and finding new business, diary management, whilst keeping up to date with compliance and regulations.In such a competitive market, I was responsible for customer retention and I built excellent relationships with customers, resulting in them returning to Nationwide in order to receive my trusted advice.

Bedford

This was a cashier role where I handled all customer banking transactions. There were targets to aim for in referring banking products to senior advisors. Previously the branch had failed to meet its monthly targets. After three months of me starting the position, my contributions led to the branch achieving over 100% of its target for the first time. As a result of this the branch was ranked number one in the country, and continued to achieve this every month whilst I was in the position.
